Someone has run a key(or other) down the paintwork of my beautiful 2015 car. I'm gutted. They gave it a good push too so a dent as well as a score through to the metal.

One would have to assume that the recent press coverage on this subject cannot have helped.

It's only a thing and I try not to attach emotion to objects but I do very much love this vehicle. It makes me smile every day.

:(

That is terrible. I got home from the club today to find a small dent and scratch in mine. Looks like a bash with a trolley or bag or something as too low on the door to be another car door. I always park very carefully for that very reason. Why the hell people can't take more care is beyond me but to deliberately damage something is just crazy.

I'm gutted enough about mine but would be really upset in your shoes. Get it repaired as soon as possible so you can smile every time you look at it again.

I feel for you mate. We like to have a newish motor and have had the same over the years, dents, scratches, broken mirrors.

I imagine by the sound of it its a kid or someone on a bike that has fell against it causing the dent, but has scratched it in the process. It is no consolation, I just can't understand why kids are brought up with so little respect for other people and there possessions. This is really a case where parents can take a decent amount of blame for not giving their kids the right values in life, if they had they would grow up with them so even as an adult they wouldn't be such a-holes and cause this damage to other people.

I just hope your policy has a caveat in it for vandalism so you dont have an excess reduction, if you do find a nice body shop that will write the quote up to take the excess into account. (I know not wholly legal but the insures charge enough as it is)

Was once told by a senior member of management, after I told him I was careful where I park my VXR Corsa Arctic. "If that's how you feel you should have just bought a crap car. It's just a car"
I asked him if I could rent his holiday home in Slovakia, he was chuffed to bits. I told him " so I can torch it as it's just a building".
he still didn't get the point.

(as the popular mood goes these days)... dont blame the parents, the school & teachers should do more. Also there should be more regulations against such things..
