Just goes to prove that like Woods (immovable obstruction anyone) there is definitely one rule for the "names" and another for the journeymen. I would have thought Augusta in particular with their so called sense of tradition would have wanted to uphold the rules of golf to the letter and sadly that would have been a DQ

As stricktly speaking a player or his caddy is not suposed to rake/smooth the surface of the sand if he is still in the bunker or in another bunker. Never mind the kicking the sand issue of the possibility of testing sand.

Quite frankly I consider these sort of rules quite silly, though they are rules so ough to be adered to in comps such as this.

Especially odd as a player is allowed to ease/work their feet into the sand when taking a stance. As to me this is more likely to give a player an idea of the condition of the sand than a smoothing action or kicking the sand.

EDIT: Of course the difference with Tiger & Rory is that Tiger wouldn't have even been questioned about his actions, infact nothing would have been said.
