Yesterday i struck a blow for older golfers, i whipped a young whippersnapper and i'm now in the last 8 of our matchplay trophy. he tried to tire me out by taking it to the 3rd extra hole. During the round we were waved through 6 games on the trot , so thanks guys for your good manners. Great when you play the vice captain

I played a second rd matchplay yesterday, but unfortunately we weren't waved through and had to endure a 3 and a half hr round. Luckily my concentration lasted a bit better than my oppo and managed a 1 up win.

Well done on your win. i was impressed with my vice captains tact , he said to the players in front when we caught up, " excuse me lads we are playing a tie would you mind letting us play through" some were complete strangers and didn't know he was the vice captain but still let us through. Even when replaying the first hole we were told to play on , while lots of golfers were waiting, renewed my faith in others.:whoo:

I was cut down to size today in the final of our club matchplay comp , by a young forum hitting distance whippersnapper. No complaints from me and well done you lucky *******

He caught me cold in the 29 degree heat today.I was 4 down after 6 holes, brought it back to 2 down at the turn, but to no avail lost on the 16th 3 and 2.

But hey still doing well on the old codger circuit, there always next year i hope
