Are Now TV still only broadcasting on 780 or have they rushed into the early 2010s and are broadcasting in 1080 now? Tried to watch the Ryder Cup using a Now TV weekly sports pass but the picture was mostly awful on my TV. My broadband is around 300Mbps so that wasn't the limiting factor.

Sky go is still 780 I think, which is annoying. No idea re Now TV, but would expect it to be similar, as it is probably the same stream.

On a related note, does anyone subscribe to any ‘pay to stream’ tv via an amazon firestick that they would recommend?

I know there’s nowtv but I’d want btsport for the football as well as sky for the golf and football.

The financial news channel on Sat and Sun. Just highlights package of the previous weeks PGA comp. It's decent enough and you get to see all the big names.

Now TV is available in 1080p for an extra £3 per month. Main event and Premier League is upped to 50 frames per second which will make action smoother, low frame rate can be more annoying than low resolution. It also increases your device limit to 3 simultaneous streams and give 5.1 sound (assume this is on certain shows only).

Money saved ? Budget will just be adjusted - which is of course set by the government
