Marvin Hagler RIP

I remember him as a kid growing up. Boxing was regularly on BBC and ITV so people grew with these people, you knew who they were, professionally. Hagler terrified me and was a class above pretty much everyone else he fought. One of the finest boxers ever.

He was my favourite boxer back in the 80's, he was a beast. His fight with Tommy Hearns was crazy, and I still think to this day he was totally cheated out of that fight with Sugar Ray Leonard.

RIP Marvin
A proper boxer, from an era of great boxers / boxing.
Legend.......1 of my all time favourites

This all day long, I remember the fight v Alan Minter. Last one fight left a lasting impression on me. Minter got battered. An excellent fighter at an excellent time for boxin.

Wow sad news. There are 'artistic boxers' like Sugar Ray Leonard and there are 'scrappers' like Marvellous Marvin and he was probably the greatest scrapper in the time period that I used to follow boxing. Add in Thomas Hearns and it was a golden era for boxing.

RIP Marvin ?

He was a fighter that had it all; yes he could scrap with the best, but he could box clever as well. possibly pound for pound the greatest fighter boxing has seen, and one half of the fight of the century. RIP Marvin.

An absolute legend of the ring and one of the best pound for pound boxers of his day. I can’t even believe I naively thought that Tony Sibson stood a chance against him ?.

Sad news indeed.
