Martin O Neill

apologies, it was Dalgliesh that bought the title at Blackburn, my mistake. As for my knowledge of football, yes it's not much, why would I want to have any knowledge about a sport full of cheats.

On the bright side I think Villa QPR and Reading will go so whoever gets the job can start the rebuilding job. I can't make up my mind if O'Neill is a good manager or not. He seems to have the passion but what has he really done?

Not really bother that he has gone Reay
Done well for us first few games but been poor for a while
Fingers crossed we can get a win against mags as I can't see us picking many more points up to be fair
Was at the game yesterday and all thy tried to do for first half was pass it to McLean and he has had a poor season as well

The man for us yesterday was Danny rose played a good game and Gardiner was getting to crowd going

He took Leicester City up to the premier, our first season there we finished 10th and Won the League cup when everybody had us down for straight back relegation. Should have won the Manager of the year but no went to Mr Ferguson cos man utdwon the league. We won two league cups under him and had our best run of success in years

Another over rated manager that the press love to big up, he's been linked with nearly every top English league job and the closest he's got was the villa job.

I feel sorry for the Sunderland fans who have had to endure the negative tactics and football he's served up the last 16 months.

You heard it here first!

Can't see swapping o'neill for di canio as a smart move.....

I agree, I cant see the logic. I reckon O'Neill would have kept them up and next year would have kicked on. For me he was building something (slowly) and would have gotten there. He was never going to win the league with Sunderland but he would have established them a top 8 club if given the time. Fletcher was a good buy and its unfortunate that his other signings havent settled as quickly.

Panic button was pressed unfortunately.

6 plus years ago he was going to be England's answer.:smirk:

He is up there with the most over rated gaffers in world football and his football is dire to watch.

Since he left us he has been found out big style, yes he gave us a European run but let's face it he should have actually won more than he did and anyway's it was the Scottish League at the end of the day.;)

It will either prove to be a masterstroke or a complete disaster, eitherway it promises to be an eventful few weeks at SUFC as Di Canio is hardly the most stable calm chap around. Wonder how many touchline bans he will clock up now

Don't you love Sky sports.
Swindon v Doncaster.

'Brian Flynn and Kevin MacDonald, two very experienced managers'

I believe that this is MacDonald's first/ second game as a manager

Not realy one way or the other regarding MoN to be honest , my opinion is Di Canio is a nut job tho & its a bad move for the club...

For the ones who are anti o'neill what or who are you comparing him too ? to sir alex ? wenger ? jose? or the hundreds of managers that never got promoted or won anything ,

It this and when i hear people say such a player in EPL or SPL is rubbish or useless, depends on what he been compared to surely ?

Did a cracking job at Leicester with no money and took Celtic to a European final, going toe to toe with Mourinho, which they were unlucky to lose.

Good job at Villa but spent a fortune to do it. Bad job at Sunderland having spent a fortune.

His teams always had a reputation for being committed, hard working and enthusiastic. Sunderland seem to be none of the above atm and they can't score...

Still think he could do a decent job for a struggling Prem club or top championship side, but his chances of getting a top job have now pretty much gone IMO.

As for Di Canio....him and Sunderland just doesn't seem like a good fit to me.Potentially more trouble than he is worth. He won't get away with half of the stuff he did at Swindon with the premier league spotlight on him....
