Margin crossing point

This is a hypothetical question prompted by the discussion of Tiger's drop at Sawgrass. (I don't wish to get involved in that particular debate).

Consider the attached diagram. Ball flight is the line in red. Where is the point where the ball crosses the margin for the purposes of taking a drop: point A or point B?

Thanks to all that have replied.

Regarding this specific clarification:
Is the outline the waterline or the margin of the hazard? If it's the waterline does the peninsula fall inside the stakes/margin on the hazard?
Remember this is a hypothetical question. I had intended the outline to be the boundary of the hazard.

I can see the point you're making - if the stakes include the peninsula in the hazard, then presumably the drop point is at A.

Exactly what I was getting at - thought it a point worth making as I've seen people trying to drop balls in hazards in such situations!

Can't see the image very well - but it depends on whether the peninsula is in the hazard or not - and the critical thing is where is the hole on the green?

Depending on the answers to these it could be A, or B, or either...

1. Peninsula in hazard - drop at A on a line from flag.
2. Peninsula not in hazard and ball was flying directly towards flag (ie hole is somewhere top right) - then can choose on a line from either point A or point B (as both are on a line behind point B)
3. Ball was not flying towards hole (eg hole was somewhere say top left) then it's on a line behind B

Oops - my mistake. Thread is about the point of reference for dropping, whereas my response relates to where to drop...
