ManU - enough flair?

Is it me or do ManU look very ordinary this season. I appreciate they were top of the league until Saturday and have won the League Cup but for me they don't have much flair through the team.

Rooney has been very very good but the rest? Think Evra is good and Nani can be on his day but Ferdinand and Vidic look average against good forwards.

Berbatov doesn't seem to work well at ManU, he seems too placid of character to me, not that bothered whether he wins or loses, unlike Rooney. Think ManU could have spent that money far better.

Park and Fletcher are just workhorses, great engines but not great footballing skills. Used to like Carrick but he seems to have faded since a couple of years ago. Neville, Giggs and Scholes are past it, surely ManU shouldn't need to field 35/36 year olds, goalkeepers apart. Neville particularly plays poorly these days.

Think Chelsea were worthy winners on Saturday and seem to have more skilled players like Malouda/Cole/Anelka/Lampard but also plenty steel. Think they'll hang on for the title now.

Since Ronaldo left I think watching ManU has become much duller.

Think Ferguson and scouts need to source at least another top striker and one playmaking midfielder.

The whole standard of the top 4 teams is well below where it was 2 years ago.

What do others reckon?

Have not been to see them this season but what i've saw on TV,is they just seem to scrape thru games at times.

Neville,Giggs and Scholes slow the team down in tempo, Neville's been finished for years and Scholes is a liability but ther's not alot in reserve to be honest.Berbatov is a great talent but plays when he wants and Carrick is off the pace, its time to bring in some players with pace and the rest of the team might get a lift.

I agree that the league standard has dropped, also i think for next season Fergie has to sign some players to take the slackers place,Berbatov, scholes neville all to go or retire, would still have Giggs.

Nah. I'm not with you, I'm afraid.

Chelsea won because they got an offside goal allowed. It should never have happened and teh race should still be as open as ever. But of course Chelsea are now huge favourites.

The flair in Utd isn't as great as it was, because they've lost a £80 million pound player, but it's still as good as Chelsea. Anderson, and Nani both have a reasonable amount of flair. And they've lost Rooney as well. No side could lose him and not be worse off.

Chelsea are a good side, but without a huge amount of flair, but they are going into the run in with a pretty full squad. Arsenal have obviously got the most flair in the top 3, and they're 3rd favourites to win the title. And they've been without Van Persie for so long that many have forgotten what a blow that has been.

In this country you need a strong side with just a little bit of extra skill - an amazing striker and two midfielders is about perfect. Any more and the spine becomes too weak to sustain a challenge.
