Manchester Derby

Not a great game but didn't expect it to be. Great result for the neutral who wants to see the race go all the way. Sadly the cynic in me can see City getting turned over on Saturday against the Toon

Why does Fergie continue to think that Scholes, Giggs and Park is a good idea. I have never seen Rooney have a decent game when he is left as a lone striker.

City deserved the win and United have themselves to blame if they don't win the title.

I doubt it Homer, they don't play til Sunday ;) :)

Kompany still has him locked in his pocket :D

Yes Kompany is a quality Defender if ever there was one. Just to think Fergie went to watch him play at Celtic when he was at Anderlecht in the Champions League, however somebody else caught Fergies eye that night, it was Liam Miller remember him what a mistake!! Anyway tonight if Rooney spent less time chasing the Ref around and telling him what descisions to make he might have had a bit more joy but instead he had a right shocker tonight.

Typical ol' Whiskey Nose... Everybody else to blame but him and his lot.
Mancini badgering the ref (not that Roonaldo was trying to officiate - well lets face it he wasn't exactly playing).
City yet might not win the league but they've certainly proved who the best team in Manchester is this season.

I'm VERY happy - throat still sore and my first thoughts on waking were "we did it" with a hint of incredulity.

:whoo:

How was it ever 5 minutes injury time though? 2 very small injury breaks, a couple of subs, 3 minutes max. Never ceases to amaze me how much injury time manure get....

I'm going to disagree - as a neutral I really enjoyed the game last night. City played united off the park in the first half - great movement and passing. United enjoyed a good spell in the second half when they tried to force something to happen and for a while I thought they'd equalise.

Only problem really was the lack of clear cut chances created but definitely an intriguing game.

And, yes, Rooney had a shocker.

Fantastic to see City win. Just great. 2 more wins and they are the champions! I really hope that they do it as I had a season ticket at Maine Road when I was at Manchester University back in the day.

Blue Moon.......................you saw me etc etc.

Only one team playing so far tonight.

Park wouldn't get a game for Chesterfield and what was dog lip up to at the goal?

Yes he would:)

Alright,Rangers then....

He wouldnt want one there tho .. chesterield it is then :)

As per Homer i think the too are gona have a mighty say in it ..

i thought 3 results would be crucial in title destination , utd v everton . city v utd & city v nufc .. still think so

City played well and deserve the title if they win it, but is it really the old Man City from Maine Road that are going to win it? What part of what is there now really resembles any traditions or ethos of the club? It's just an oil sheik XI who happen to have a Man City badge on their shirts.

Team selection and tactics cost united last night and Ferguson must take the blame for that.

Why wasn't Paul scholes sent off for butting/leaning in towards yaya toure in the chest?

Pepe reina was sent off for exactly the same a couple of weeks ago.
