Man United

Personally I could give a H, S or one jot who got knocked out. I would like to see all these big spending teams fail, just to give others a shot and wipe the divine right thoughts off their faces. In Scotland all we have is two teams the rest is just obstacles on the way to a finishing line, year after year after year after year.

I agree but its also nice to see other teams competing in the latter stages

but seeing Barca roll over UTD I could watch every day of the week :)

I think it just highlights Man U arent as good as they (the club and its fans) think they are with there current crop of players

Are you a football fan tho Tommo or just your own club ? do you watch games your own club are not playing in ?

as a LFC fan and us not being in Europe full stop I have to say I am not really interested. I am happy to watch the likes of Barca or Real any night of the week. El Cllassico will be great on Saturday.

Did anyone see the Napoli game? had the final stages and one of the Napoli players got lamped with a flying right hook, not one official saw it!!!!

as a neutral id like to see to english teams going hammer and tong in the final and playing at a premier league pace. But to be fair i do love watching messi play his balance and skill is sublime treats players like dribbling cones. As much as a i think hes a (pick any word) i love watching ronaldo play as well.
El Classico is a real hit and miss game at times. You either see both teams playing the game the way it should be beautiful flowing moves or a real scrappy sunday league kick fest

Listen lads, no footy fans should call any other set of fans by the S### word. I know each club has a set of S### fans, but no need to call the whole set of them or the club that.

I hate man U as much as the next fella, but would never call them S###. I actually think that Man U have one of the best sets of away fans for singing, and are the only club in the Uk who can come close to us in terms of amount of unique songs. I hate them though, but there is a line.

For the uninitiated though, the UEFA co-efficients are spread over 5 years, so it would take a good few years of teams not doing well, for us to go down to 3 places. It would also take Portugal, Germany, Holland's teams to vastly improve their showings to nick one of them also.

Love the Channel no.5 fragrance joke though!!!

just watched the chelski highlights and drogba looked good tonight. He is easily there 1st choice striker over the other 3. Still think if AVB is on a bit of borrowed time though

Not a real fan of football but I was brought up in Glasgow and I seen the pure shocking hatred one group had against the other. When I left school (schools were segregated by religion) and realised another group of people existed and became good friends with many of them. I’m all for the small man.

I am united fan and I would love to see all english team progress as far as they can in europe. Mainly because it opens up more european spots to the league which in turn helps all the clubs. I am sure we was on the verge of losing a champions league place a couple of years ago so I doubt we are that far away at the moment. Especially as Italian football is gradually getting back to its feet again. If we lose a spot then the big 4 or 5 will then be reduced again to a top 3, as they will make the most money in europe.

As much as barca are an extremely good team I would give anything to see them take a battering from one of our sides. I like seeing the english sides doing well, heck i was chuffed to bits when fulham done juventus 4-0 i think at craven cottage.

BBC weather warning:- Be careful out there people, heavy winds are forecast in the North west. Apparently they've had to shut the M62 down in both directions due to the gale force laughter coming from Merseyside and Leeds.

Well said, religion poisons nearly everything it touches, especially football.

I can't amke up my mind if Fergie has been naive in the group stages of the team wasn't good enough. The home form was shocking and surely the first rule of CL and even Europa League is win your home games and give yourself a chance. I can't see Fergie taking the Europa too seriously and reckon he'll blood a few fringe players. On the plus side he can really focus on the PL and that could be ominous for everyone else. As for me, I'm praying we don't find a Fulham way of mucking it up against Odense and then we'll see what happens in the draw. I don't think we'll get out of the next group phase which will do me. PL survival over the subbuteo cup everytime

I didn't mind MU going out, annoyed me that SAF didn't get a better side together way back in Jan10, they were totally outclassed by Barcelona in CL final and playing has beens and unproved youngsters up front ain't going to work at the top level.
Think Chelsea are starting to gel, if AVB ditches some dead wood in January and finds a solid centre half like Carvalho somehwere, Chelsea could do well in CL this year, they are one of the few sides who seem able to stifle Barcelona.
