Have recently switched from my Scotty Newport to an Odyssey Sabretooth. the main reason for the switch was I was struggling a little with alignment issues.

The Odyssey has solved the alignment issue and is very good from inside 10ft but anything outside this and distance control becomes a real struggle, and as someone who finds themselves with lots of 30-40ft putts a round this is killing me now.

My main problem with the Odyssey is the insert, it has a soft but springy feel which I just dont like, has far less feel than a milled face for me.

Is there a putter out there that fits the best of both worlds? Mallet shaped, high moi putter with a milled steel face as I cant seem to find any that aren't half mallets.

If not then its back to the Scotty :)

I'm not keen on insert-faced putters, although the black "hard" one in Fisher putters is cool.

I use a Taylor Made, which has an AGSI face, which is kind of milled (if you ask me). It's great. Maybe see if you can try one. :)

Have you tried a Scotty Red X Steve..?
Wonderful feel and the insert is steel so you get the best of both worlds.
Mine's improved my putting no end since I got it.

Never got on with the TM putters, will look at the Fishers

I tried a Red X a while back and didnt get on with it Ian, maybe worth another go, not tried a kombi, another to take a look at.

Seems a recurring theme for milled putters....

I know Nike do one in their Method range (005 I think) and Rife also do a couple but can't think of the models at the minute.

These may be a mid size mallet. Not sure how much use that is Fundy?

Hi,
Is the Red X face balanced? Have decided that i need a face balanced putter and would like to stick to a Scotty.
