This ones a singles comp with 5 in a team and you play in h/c order. So there...

First team will get picked for this without even looking at a wider auduence. We've got some decent single figure golfers come into the club but the 1st team is almost like an inner sanctum amongst themselves. Not a great set up

It was like this at my old club.

Fortunately I was one of the better players so I always got picked. Hard times on the hackers.......

our groups is picked from within our swindle which has about 40 members. we have been told when it is, and who its against, but as yet from only 12 people putting their name down the team has not been picked.

Used to make a trip there every year to use the County Card , well worth it imo
