Lynx courses along the south east coast.

Littlestone.
Great course.
Played in their Open last year and have my name down for this years too.
Right bugger when the wind blows, which is how it should be.

Out of interest I just had a quick look at their website and they do a weekend twilight fee (after 2pm March - April; after 3pm May-August) for £55.

Looks like a cracking course too.

Edited to add:

Just also followed link to Littelstone Warren
[h=1]Green Fees
[/h] Fees for a round of golf at Littlestone Warren are:
£22.00 Midweek (£35 per day)
£27.00 at Weekends and Public Holidays (£40 per day)
£12.00 Special Twilight Rate*

It is a cracking course. I always enjoy playing down there but watch the weather forecast before picking my day! On a lovely calm afternoon, nowhere nicer to have a tonk.

As per my edit just also had a quick look at Littlestone Warren.

At those prices it looks a steal. What's that like Smiffy?

Could well be tempted to sort out a little golf break down there and do both. Haven't played a links for years.

I've played Littlestone not Littlestone Warren. It's next door, it's looks OK but quite short with a couple of 90 degree doglegs. It didn't look like it was worth travelling to by itself. It may be good as a warm up to the main event, as Littlestone is well worth the trip.

Agree, the Warren is the appetiser for Littlestone - not worth playing on it's own. The 17th at Littlestone is worth the entrance money alone - a fantastic Par 3......hit driver last time into the wind and made the front edge.....the purerst shot I have ever played

Bazil, if you do Royal Cinque ports, count me in, well worth the money fab course, only let us go out in groups of 2 when we played

Hayling Island, also love this place, again count me in, think they do a day rate during the week for £50

Princes, is good, not as great as it's neighbour Royal St Georges, but a hell of a lot cheaper. Theyve got 3 loops of 9, 2 are good, one not so good.

If you want to play any of these places, your probably better off getting a weekend break through one of the Golf travel people

I'm thinking of doing a double header of RSG and Royal Cinque Ports for my 40th next year. Can you get this as a package through a travel company ??

Think so, but I'm pretty sure RSG and CP you can only play during the week. We stayed at a place called the Dog Inn, which was very nice and done a great fry up in the morning.

One thing to remember, both the above courses are fantastic, but old duffer paradise and have rules about rules, if you know what I mean

cheers

As long as they have a portrait of the Queen I can salute, I will be happy :D
Morecambe GC has a picture of the Queen as a clubhouse, Therod. Plus it's right on the bay, although not quite a links course.

Only problem is it's 350 miles away from Littlestone, etc!

If you fancy nipping over the pond to France, this is one of the best links courses I've ever played and always in top condition, only 15-20 minute drive from Calais too

They do a great cheese and ham omlette with chips too ;)

I'd agree. Cracking course.
I played that in a howling gale with a scratch golfer and his 2 handicapped mate. Belgians they were. Didn't speak much English but were very good company nonetheless.
A par 3 on the back 9 was into a 30mph breeze. Me and my mate took a bloody driver to it, the scratch guy pured a 2 iron with a hint of draw to hold it into the breeze and put it to within 3 feet.
Cocky Belgian git
