Lydia Ko wins again!

I found that run of the mill event fascinating to watch. Seeing a journeyman pro like Jim Herman hold on to his lead the way he did and book a place in Augusta was great. Better than watching Tin Cup!

Loved the way Ko approached her last few holes though and that last wedge was awesome.

More doing well in spite of Leadbetter I feel.

I would say he has helped her. I know he has his critics and some people swings have got worse with his help but I'm sure M Wie is getting too much interference from her management/sponsers but DL Stock must improve with every major win. I would have a lesson with him tomorrow if offered.

I was a bit peeved about the crappy coverage throughout. Don't see why sky couldn't have put it on the red button if they were insistent on concentrating on a run of the mill men's event instead.
Yep woman's game should get a better coverage! Rather watch it tbh as they hit the ball same distance as we do and I get better idea of shots and swings. Men's game just seems to be boom, wedge putt.

Coverage was poor tbh - IMO it should have be the LPGA on the main coverage and the Honda on the Red Button.

And you both would be able too - on the red button whilst the main coverage would on one of the biggest comps in the ladies game with the best in the world playing

The ladies game has no hope of the "Home of Broadcasting Golf" shunt their opening major behind a regular tour event

Ladies golf is a niche. Sky want the most people to watch, hence the decision to show the mens game. You were still able to watch the Ladies if you so wish, but Sky obviously feel the majority would rather watch the men.

not sure why people are that worried from last night, only missed the first 6 holes of the womens, the time differences meant that most of the last round was live

I often watch the final round on my I pad on a Monday, not sure but don't think I could if it were red button.

Final round is always repeated on Monday on sky and repeated a few times - regardless of it being on red button or not

So the point still stands

The ladies game hasn't got a hope of growing if the self proclaimed Home of Golf on Telly prefers to show the regular PGA event over the first biggest comp of the season.

Why wait for the repeat and risk the chance of seeing a spoiler? If you look to the right hand side of the screen, the result is right there, ruined.

The point doesn't stand. Sky preferred to show the culmination of the last event before The Masters over the first 6 holes of the Ladies final round and they were absolutely right to do so. Why show 3 hours of the Final Round of an event and then switch to the Ladies and miss the end? Would make absolutely zero sense.

I know what Sky "preffered" to show

Sky had no issues showing the start of the ladies major rounds then "switching" to the men's when the Ladies weren't finished

Sky prioritised the men's game regardless of the event over the first major of the Year - for me that does nothing to help the ladies game and certainly does nothing to help promote the game for them. For me it's poor from them.

IMO they should have highlighted and promoted the First Ladies Major of the Year more

Their duty isn't to help the ladies game though? It's to get the most viewers, thus the most income and please their shareholders, pretty much the same as all companies. Most of us would rather watch the men, so if anything blame the public not sky.

Womens sport will always play second fiddle to Mens, it's just the way it is.

Okay, this ranks in eternal wisdoms of the world right between "The world is flat" and "Men will never fly."

Not saying that what you say is not true (sadly). But to say that it always will be that way, like it is a law of nature is ... bold. Or stupid. Or both.

It will always be that way because at the very top in 99% of sports the blokes are always better. You just can't argue with that, its nature.

And before anyone starts accusing me of sexist rubbish, imo the world would be a much better place if far more women were in positions of power and authority.

And I can appreciate the skill of the female golfers, their ability far outweighs mine and probably 95%+ of men.

All about audience figures so the men will always get the nod but it there's no excuse for not having on the red button every week and pushing it more.

Sorry to have sparked another futile argument about women's sport. My point was the the women's golf should have been available on the red button. Can't see why any reasonable person would possibly disagree with that.

I watched the men's run of the mill event and did enjoy it but I would much rather have watched the women's golf and was frustrated that I was unable to do so.
