Lower boost pipe?

Hi Everyone. I'm a total Golf newbie.

I've just brought a MKV for my daughter and the guy at the garage says that the "lower boost pipe" has blown off and needs a new one fitting.

I've done a bit of research online and what I think he means is the "lower pressure hose" to the intercooler.

Can anyone tell me if this sounds about right please?

Also is this a common problem with them?

I think we all need a boost in our lower pipe from time to time.

Wrong kind of golf forum, but yes I think you're correct about the pipe. Used to fail quite often on my old RST
