Can anyone give me a review of this course or if you have been or are a member / know any members, can you get in touch via PM?

Moving very close to the course (3 minute drive) and considering a membership. However, it's £400 joining fee over two years (I am generally against these as a matter of principal) and £550 a year fees.

Alternatively, I can join the local council course which also gives me access to the little 9 hole course and two other courses within the region all for £341.50 green fees plus £180 annual membership fees. My local course would be 12 minutes away.

Over 20 minute drive away and heard that it's a lake in the winter. Might be wrong.

Only played it in the middle of this summer so it was bone dry. Fantastic layout and some great views. I had vouchers from the SGS so I went and it chewed me up and spat me out. Worth a visit in the summer even if you do join somewhere else mate.

timewise the 3 minute course all day long. had a look at the website. looks quite nice!

those fees are not too bad either!

At those prices, compared to down here Dave, I'd join them all!

Enjoy whatever club you choose my friend!

yes you are right

Played the course loads and have friends in Newmilns hence why I asked, sorry to go off topic................again:rolleyes:

PM is definitely the place to discuss exactly where one lives. There are also professional and personal reasons for not being specific and answering your question as to where I'm going to be living when I move. Again, PM me for details if you're really interested.

This was the original post- if you're able to write a wee review, it would really help me out and I'd really appreciate it.

I used to be a member there for almost 15 years, had a great time, played with friends just after we all left school.

Played in the Saturday medals and then went off to the football. Stayed in Darvel at that point and was only a few minutes away.

The course is relatively short, compared to some other courses, but despite not having a huge amount of rough can be a great challenge due to the huge amount of tress which were planted and that have now come to fruition. Especially in the summer it can be in fabulous condition, but does get a little wet in the winter like all parkland /inland courses. I know one of our former forum members is about to rejoin.
If you are thinking of joining let me know and I still have many friends there.

I played in the Loudoun Open a few years ago and sat beside my old locker, and had a couple of guys asking if I was still a member, despite being away for 5 years lol.

If you fancy a links course, Depending on where you end up staying Bogside at Irvine is only 20 mins away and we are looking for members ;)

Ps Loudoun is only Gowf course in the world
