Monday night was lovely, straight from work to the practice ground. I use a 4 iron for lining up, forget to pick it up, go back the following morning before the crows get up, and it’s gone.

Depression sets in. I phone the club and no sign. I start to roam the interweb for another one and depression gets worse, non to be seen and no phone calls.

Then I get a phone call last night, it’s been handed in and I’m back to my normal grumpy self again. :D

Main thing is you got it back. It can sometimes take a week for people to hand things in. I found an iron once and put it in my bag and forgot about it after the round , only realised I had it the next time I went to the club , so I guess the owner was panicking for a few days

good on the person that handed it in, not many people do that nowadays

Don't know about that boabski, it was a scabby old TM and the head was probably due to fly off on the next swing ;)

Thommo....senior moments on the practice ground, that's tha start of it. You'll be locking your keys in your car next :p

I played 9 holes yesterday and while we were putting out on the 17th green, my dad for some unknown reason took his putter out and left it beside the green. There was 2 3balls behind us. Anyway we reached the 18th green when he discovered it missing. He walked back and asked the guys had they seen it. The 3 ball behind (visitors) said they hadn't. He reached the 17th green and the 3 ball (more visitors) there said they hadn't. I joined in the search and there is was lying half in the tree's. So someone was telling porkies. Unless the rabbits had draged it in there. I still can't understand why someone would see a club lying and throw it into tree's. If your not going to hand it in why lift it?

The funny thing is, after getting home on Monday night, I was giving the clubs a good spit and polish when I noticed it missing. In a panic I got a torch, about 3 candle power, went with the good lady to the practice area, pitch dark, the moon had gone, it was right up the far end as well about 400 yards, freezing by this time and I was running to where I thought I left it as if the place was heaving with people and someone was about to take it.

I played in the Mens invitation at Highwoods last year, left my 9 iron out on the course. Didn't realise until a few days later and knew immediately where I had left it. Went up the club to ask if it had been handed in, no luck. Went back to where I knew I had left it, thinking it might be sitting in the semi-rough and been overlooked. No joy. Rang the pro up a couple more times over the course of the following two weeks, no luck.
Just about to give up and order a new one when I got a phone call from the assistant pro to say that it had been handed in.
Turned out one of the guests at the invitation had found it, put it in his bag and had been so well looked after in the bar by the member that had invited him that he got pissed and had forgotten all about it. He then went on a two week holiday to America and didn't realise it was still in his bag until he returned!
I was as chuffed as monkies that he had found it.

Im playing without an 8 iron i left behind a green two summers ago at my own club - never handed in. i've searched a few times online for a replacement too without any luck. Also left my winter mitts on the course the other week and they were not handed in either....

I've lost count of the number of irons i've taken in to the clubhouse for other people who've left them on the course.

I see there's a few senior moments apart from mine. :)

Nothing compared to mine yesterday....

Played with a mate of mine, bit chillier than anticipated so I went in the pro shop to buy a "thinsulate" bobble hat to keep my bonce warm. I don't normally like wearing a hat and kept taking it off when the sun came out and it was a tad warmer, sticking the hat on the handle of my trolley.
Got to the 13th, looked for my hat on the trolley and saw it was missing.
"Bloody hell Ray, I've lost my bobble hat" I said.
Ray looked at me a bit puzzled.
"Do what?" he said.
"I've lost my bobble hat, only just bought it" I said.
"You prat, it's on your head"

:o :o :o :o
