I don't care who you are - 5 holes behind is totally unaccceptable under any circumstances.

The player is clearly totally selfish and self absorbed and needs putting straight. In a civil but firm manner that will ensure they are aware that a repetition
in future will be dealt with by applying the rules to the letter even if that means DQ.

The playing partners got everything they deserved by not having the gumption to address the problem early doors.

The club should take a good hard look at itself if is willing to overlook the situation and not take action.

Being a "budding superstar" low handicap junior does not get you a free pass to treat the course as your personal fiefdom.

I don't care who you are - we need to get this game of hit ball with stick over and done with so we can have 2 hours in the bar then get home to spend 6 days reading about complete strangers' golfing irritations before the next outing.

Would have been 3 hours in the bar, but they were held up on the course. By the time they had told everyone in the clubhouse about their slow round, there was barely any time to grab a drink. One of them was severely dehydrated.

Also the kitchen was closed so he had to get a takeaway from the Raj on the way home. And they gave him a coriander naan by mistake instead of plain naan. All this trouble because of one slow golfer.
