Looking to change grip

I changed the other way after playing with Vardon grip for over 30 years. Instantly felt good, so I am sure you can go the other way without a problem Tony. Sounds like a good idea to get the new grip checked over, before you start hitting those 800 balls.;)

Any thoughts on the club being more in the fingers.

It doesn't feel any different to me. You are only changing the position to each other of two fingers. I would get you either grip checked out though, as it sounds like your right hand grip is too strong, and changing to a Vardon grip is not going to change that.

Sounds promising then.
Any thoughts on the club being more in the fingers.
I would presume this is more beneficial?

Personally I don't change anything, apart from the position of the interlocking\overlapping fingers, it really doesn't feel any different at all.

Used interlocking since I started. I tried over lapping as an experiment when I got back into golf about ten years ago but hated it and never stood there with confidence despite giving it plenty of range time

Are you saying that you make adjustments to your grip during your swing?!

Yes,I try to weaken my grip however as I swing it seams to strengthen.
It seams that the varndon grip is helping.
I appreciate it going to take a bit of time, but a few have done it successfully so
im going to work on it.
When I had my session with James he said my grip was too strong and many
have said the same.
In fact my dad has said it for years, but the interlocking grip seems so comfortable.

I started with a baseball, try the interlocking but it felt awful, probably wasn't doing it correctly, now using the overlapping and more than happy with that. Not sure how much difference it makes whether the fingers are overlapped or interlocked, for me its purely a comfort thing.

Bit off topic but i played golf a few weeks back with a guy who played right handed with a left handed grip - left below right - looked very awkward but he struck it well.

Back from my first session trying out the new grip.
My 52 and 58 wedges felt good, absolutely no real difference in feel.
However did struggle getting some consistency with the wedge and 8 iron.
One major thing I did notice with my 52 and 58 more so the 58 I had a lot
more balls on the right side of the flag when previously it has been the left.

I used to find with an interlock grip my bad shot was a pull.
i used to hit most stuff left of target, so much so that when I changed I thought my alignment was off.

I got my alignment checked not long after changing thats when it came to light but now I feel happy going straight at the flag.
if your prepared to stick with it I think you'll find the benefits of a more neutral grip.
