Looking ahead

Id leave around 9,
After my porridge and some egg and toast :)...Just on the off chance that i may get a puncture or be held up at something.....Im always there at leat a half hour to 40 mins before my tee time anyway...

Ill spend about 20 mins chipping and another 30 mins putting....Ill loosen up with two long iron swings for a few mins and have a good stretch about 10 mins before tee off.....

Ill usually spend my 20 mins putting on the practice green adjacent to our 1st tee as then it lets me see that even people offr a lower handicap than me do have the odd wayward shot off the first tee....This really puts me at ease when im addressing my own ball when the time comes.

What I do before I leave the house is just as important. Since I can't function properly unless I've been awake for a few hours I'd need to get out of bed at 7. Get some porridge down me. Nice long, warm shower so I can stretch properly. Leave the house at 9ish. 25-50 balls at the range. Putt for 30mins at the course. 5 mins of full swings before tee-ing off. Then play like a dick because I've over-thought everything and added pressure on myself...I wonder sometimes.

Up at 7:00am. Shower, breakfast and chill out for a bit, on the road to the golf club by 8:30am.

15 minutes chipping, hit a few in the net and then onto the putting green for 10 or 15. Play my normal game of round the putting green in 2 putts per hole to finish.

Bit of banter in the pro shop, perhaps a few more putts and off to the first tee in plenty of time.

If i was going to Tain, which is 35 miles away. I would leave at 9.30, It takes 40 mins to get there. Chip a couple of balls on to the practice green, putt a few out and head for the first tee. Hitting balls before a round just doesn't work for me.

I always tee off early 7.46 even though its been later recently as its dark.Get up 6.30,shower,special K breakfast, swing golf clubs in garden 10 mins, walk to club, cup of tea,5 mins putting off we go.

(try not go to the toilet - bare with me)

1)Leave the house at 8.30am, pick my pal up
2)head to the club for a cuppa and bacon sarny.
3)Hit the Driving range at 9.30 to loosen up
4)Go to the putting area at 10am and line up 20 or so shots
5)Go to the toilet, leaving it as late as possible before,
6)heading to the tee for around 10.20

Usually get to the club 10 or 15mins before tee time pay the starter put my shoes on and a quick practice putt then if we are on time which is unusual on the tee.

I do think about getting there a bit earlier and warming up but i dont like being too hot!
