Is it weird that I prefer my long irons because I can hit them better than with my short irons or should it be the other way around.

I just don't feel comfortable with the short irons purely because I don't feel right doing a normal stance.
So don't, my stance gets more and more open from an 8 iron down - lets me see the target as I like but then get my arms and shouders through properly.

I would of thought this falls in the 'slightly wierd' category.

Ignoring the issues of very lofted clubs (ie between 3iron and pitching wedge) the majority of golfers will prefer to be playing a shorter club to a target than a longer one....to be honest I can't actually think of one that was the other way, although there were people who liked particular clubs eg 8 iron, and preferred it to their 9 but that's not the same.

There are also people who prefer to chip with a less lofted club, which is understandable, but again a seperate issue.
