So this comes and goes but last night during a match I hit 6 drives and all snap hooked about 80 yards left of the target line, all my irons pull left also.
I’m a quick player play off 6 but this is just out of the blue. My swing is also long and I can’t shorten it.
The only clubs that go where I want are wedges.
Any ideas?

I had a similar problem, pulling things left, longer clubs were low hooks.

I am now striking it a lot better and the answer was........

Get a lesson :D

The pro saw what I was doing wrong - regripping the club before backswing, swing was on wrong line, and I was trying to hit the longer clubs too hard instead of letting the club do the work. A few lessons and some practice and now loads better.

Grab an old iron you don’t care about and head to a field you can’t hurt someone or break anything. Grip it toe towards the target line and take a swing where you let the club fly towards the target. The likelihood is you’ll hang onto it and it’ll end up somewhere where between 90 degrees left and 180 degrees from the target. You need to let the body release without coming out of posture (early extending) and also release the club to hit the target.

This is my fix whenever I get the lefts as I get a stall/block release trying to play too safe. Thank me later when you get a distance jump for less effort.

Yeah fixes a lot that drill it’s actually crazy how “early” you have to let that club go if you’re a puller or slicer

Can you explain this again, i don't quite understand it.

My miss is generally a pull left with irons and a hook with driver. Not very often but it does happen.

I think he means you to release the club so that you are launching down the line you want it to go. You literally let if fly (hence why you use an old club and go to somewhere no one else is so that it is safe)

Keep swinging and launching the club until you are releasing it down the line required.

That is how I read it.
