long game sucks, but wedges/putting pretty sound... argggggh!!!!

posted in the wrong forum, can a mod move to ask the experts please

played yesterday and after my last outing shooting an 87 I was well chuffed. Yesterday I went round in 103... gutted

It was windy as hell but even so I struggled off the tee and with my fairways, hybrid and long irons (3+4), couldnt gey my irons in the air, thinned a lot, sliced badly off the tee and generally pants all round.

I finished with a total of 32 putts as my wedge play was spot on with 2 x 1 putts all the rest 2 putts so yippee no 3's.

I have a lesson booked for friday which I am going to concentrate purely on tee shots as this is costing me a sub 100/90 round, the rest of the game is there.

Any tips you have to share? (no video available before anyone asks... Bob )

A high proportion of people I play with that suffer a slice look like they're trying to kill the ball off the tee. Obviously I've never seen you play, but is that something you think might be guilty of?

it may well be, not gonna do any range time time until after my lesson friday as no point working on it until I know what I am doing wrong
