Coming down to London next week with the family and going to be proper tourists for 2 days :D Wanting to go on the London Eye and visit Madame Tussauds plus go on the tourist buses which we've been on before but wondered if anyone knows of any discounts around at the moment for all the above? Looking online and found the the days out guide but the voucher for Tussauds doesn't work.

Any codes about or in any leaflets or in London while we are down there?

Don't bother with all that.

Just walk round moaning about;

1. Lack of proper chips & gravy.
2. It's too busy.
3. People are miserable buggers.

Usually gets me by :)

We use these;

Don't know exactly where you're staying but if you're travelling in use your train tickets to get these. Got to be a paper ticket rather than an Oyster card I believe.

See you there. We fly down on the 17th, and then fly on to Spain on the 19th. We're hoping to be Eye-ing it up on the Saturday afternoon. IWM on the Sunday morning, staying just across the river near the Tate.

Hahaha that's what I'll be doing but need something to keep the kids off their phones and the wife out of the shops/bars.

If going on the eye it's worth pre booking and getting a time.

Dont bother with an Oyster card for the UG, use your touch credit/debit card. All travel is calculated at the cheapest rate for journeys that day. Cards must have been used prior to use.

We go down on the 12th until the evening of the 14th. Going to do Tussauds, The Eye, History or War museum and also the kids want to go to the rain forest cafe!

Always love going to Camden Town around the horse market. Food to die for.

In Covent Garden there is the Lego store and M&M world, great for keeping the kids entertained for a couple of hours and loads to see and do within easy walking distance, also Hamleys toy store in Regent st is great for the kids.

We're due for our 2nd visit in May.

I think we spend about 4-5 hours in there last time, and still only did about 2 floors.

If you are there with kids some of the best stuff is free. Science and Natural History Museums are free and if you are happy to leave the kids on their own the V&A is for adults ). All museums are next to each other (Kensington).

Just checked the V&A and think my kids would love it, there 11 and 13 and my 13 year old boy is really into his art at the moment so that looks a good option - cheers.

If visiting any of the museums [particularly those in Kensington], during half term, be prepared for a bit of queuing...

As well as all the other places, already mentioned, may I add Greenwich and also the National Portrait Gallery as worthy of a visit...

Might be worth checking out the TFL web-site, with regard, if you need a travel card for your kids to ride free with you..

Has anyone done the Warner Bros Harry Potter studio tour? Mrs Colch and the kids are keen to go but at over £130 for a family ticket it's not cheap so wondered if anyone has been and whether it's worth going.

If you or family are properly into HP then it's a must do really...
Just try and put it at the back of your mind it's not a cheap day out...

Mrs took the older kids and they all loved it! Its not in London though! It was Watford or somewhere like that... so don't expect to hop off a tube from Leicester Square!

Fairly certain they run a shuttle bus from Watford Junction which is easy enough to get to from Euston...

When I went I borrowed a mates Anglia...
