I am organising a day visit to the links of Kent and wondered if anyone has experience of playing Littlestone GC or Royal Cinq Ports? I need to choose between the two and with RCP being quite a bit more expensive that Littlestone I wondered if it was worth the extra dosh?

I have played Princes and loved it so that is my only real comparison.

Any knowledge or guidance greatly appreciated!

Have played them both and as much as I love Littlestone, if I could afford it I would go back and play Royal Cinque Ports again. A superb course which was in fantastic condition when we played it and it just seemed more of a "special day" when we played there.
Having said that, Littlestone is always great, some superb holes and as you have noticed it is a lot cheaper. I have never been disappointed when I have played there.
The only thing to bear in mind is that Littlestone will only allow fourball play on Wednesdays and there are some restrictions on fourballs at Royal Cinque Ports (can't remember what they are now!!)..
Edit: just had a look at their website and it's Tuesdays and Thursdays only for fourballs, twoballs at all other times.
You will not be disappointed with either course, I personally prefer them both to Princes. A good mate of mine who knows his golf courses reckons Cinque Ports is the best links course he has ever played, (way better than Royal St Georges) and would go back tomorrow if it wasn't so bloody expensive.
All you have to hope for is a calm day!!
Hope that helps
Rob
