When you submit a letter to the mags they usually email you back to say that theirs must be the only mag you have submitted the letter to. And if not then you must withdraw it. Obviously said letter writer has been a bit dishonest here, plus I've seen the same letters turning up before in different mags.

I won letter of the month in Todays Golfer once, got a nice Ping putter out of it. And to be honest from reading most of the letters in the mags, some of them do seem to be a bit on the dull side and I kind of think they must be struggling for letters sometimes. But having said that, they may well not be and I'm being a bit harsh.

The cheek of it - I think that he should give the prizes back #harddonebyGMreader

I sub-ed to both,... Couple of months ago I stopped TG and increased the GM sub to two years!!

Oh i hate to mention that I also sub to GM's sister pubs i.e. Time and Fortune... My pension money goes in supporting the Time family...

Thanks one and all, you're all going to golfing heaven and deserve all the members' bounces you get this weekend!

To quickly take the thread back on topic, Hacker Khan you are correct on both counts. Our T&Cs do say you can only send letters to us only, and therefore this 'winner' wont be receiving his prize. As you also say, our letters pile isn't always the best stocked, so if any of you do have any good stories or observations please do send us a quick email, you could win 12 dozen Pro V1s!

Trouble is I use my best material on the forum. So if this is my best work, imagine the poor quality of what's left for anything I send to the the mag......

But I'll be sending in my usual ranty letter about the presentation ceremony at The Open if Sir Plumy Blazer Voice does his usually riveting 5 minute public speaking exhibition from hell again this year. You'd think by now I should have got the message that no one is interested, but I'm working on the assumption that you will get so desperate one month you'll have to print it. ;)
