Handed in my 3rd card today for handicap at my new course

A Par 70, I've carded a 79, 80 and an 81

Now to make sub-80 a norm

Got to keep working on the putting, need to start dropping more birdie chances

My drop Luuuuuuuuuke a tweet for some hints and tips

im sure under new congu rules you will be awared the hc based on the 79 card, although if there are any scores bigger than a double they will be rounded down. id be quote happy with 9/10 as a first hc...

You must have some previous to confess to.

IF!!! you were a member of a club before. can you not ask for a h/c cert. if it still active and pass to your new club

only if its within the previous 12 months.

9 looking likely so sub 80 will need to be the norm to play to your handicap 3 consistant cards there your playing some decent golf.

Depends what the SSS for the course is! But it's most likely they'll take the 79 for your handicap. Might even take the very good consistency into account and knock another shot off!

Craw - I moved to Cambuslang GC this season ( from Mearnscastle) as it is walking distance from the house. The 1st tee is 750 yards from the back door. The clubs just sit on my trolley in the garage, no need to use the car ( which pleases HID)

Hardly played any Medal golf last season and had a couple of howlers so finished at +14 last year (should have been about 12)

Spent a lot of time on the range over winter, and I have deffo benefited from better greens at Cambi. My approach shots are sticking and putts are rolling better

All in all a happy golfer as my end of year target was single figures

Dunno, as I got my old gaff to send on a certificate.

When I signed on at Cambi they stipulated the 3 x cards. I wasnt fussed as I was quietly confident that I was around +12. So was more than happy to see my actual scores.

Yep - the hard part will be matching those scores on a wet & windy Sunday morning, unlike yesterday which was shades/shorts and T-shirt tan....

No probs Jezz...it gives me all to shoot for

Its my 40th next January, and my goal is to tee-off at Turnberry Ailsa as a single figure golfer

Wish me luck !!

good luck with it all , just be careful tho . submitting the cards when you have an active handicap might not be allowed ,,, i only saying in case you get in bother , has no bearing on me apart from that, mind you the fact you are now lower will at least show you didnt do it to cheat a false handicap .. all credit for that..

Good luck indeed, but I don't see why not if you're shooting good scores consistently - that really good one could be just around the corner

I will be facinated to see what actually transpires.... from what has been posted this is an SGU club, but I didn't understand whether your previous handicap had gone inactive (?) or whether there was any period between your leaving the previous one, and joining this one - if so how long?

As I understand the SGU CONGU rules, if you joined the club less than 6 months after leaving, and had an active handicap when you left, you will be given 14 otherwise you will be allocated a new one based on the 3 cards and your previous handicap.

26. If the handicap of a player is to be restored within six months of the date on which his handicap was
lost, or suspended, it must be reinstated at the same handicap the player last held. In all other cases
the player shall be allotted a new handicap after he has complied with the requirements of Clause
16.

So, what hcp did they give you? :)[/QUOTE

They came back with a HC of 10. Well chuffed. I felt I was playing sub-12 but practiced like crazy and nailed my 3 rounds for the HC cards.

Picked up my HC certificate this evening and played 9 holes (its a 9-hole track) and went round in +4.

Tough part will be backing it up in the medal on Sunday....here's hoping

End of year target was single figures HC - so off to a good start.
