Read in the local paper that Letham Grange has closed down, both courses and the hotel, its due to a new legal contest over ownership.
Its a pity really as the Old course there is a cracking course ,and the hotel was doing some business again after a refurb. There's been a lot of legal wrangling over this course for the past 15 years pity it can't be sorted as its gem of a track.

hey steve
played up there quite a bit - one of our `misfits` was manager up there - the short course is a cracker too , he`s no longer there as he got a job as club sec at his home course , pity cause it`s a great place and the hotel was impressive inside - but it needs a lot of investment and the guy`s that took it on have probably run out of money and patience as it`s been dragged threw the courts for years - they were talking of taking the short course down to 9 and building timeshare places on it - looks like that`s knocked on the head - shame really gcd

A few guys from work are members there Euan and they said its been coming for a while in the end the company set up to run it ran out of money.Pity because its a good course for an outing with some really good holes.

Gutted it's a great track, love the lay out and challenge. It's a real test of golf.

What a bloody shame. It has to be one of my favourites after playing it in the forum outing. The Augusta of the north. I really hope the course is retained somehow. It would be a crime to lose such a good one.

I'd played it quite a few times during our Scotland trips in the 90's. Smashing course, and we always looked forward to returning the following year.
Hope they get it sorted.

Only hope someone comes in and rescues it, such a shame as it is a great course.
With fantastic potential for the hotel if you have the cash.

I think you will find another fine golf course is the one that holds the accolade of being referred to as this. ;)

I get the feeling that someone is making a lot of money out of this.
It wont be the owners who stand to lose all their investment, it wont be the staff and their famillies who are now without income.

Lawyers, that's who are going to make a killing on this.
Drag the proceedings out for months or even years to swell their own greedy coffers while the poor staff go without work and wages
