Well I have a lesson tommorow , was shooting under or around a hundred last autumn , PB being 95 , have played a couple of proper rounds over last two weeks and scored just under 120 despite feeling like I'm hitting the ball well (mostly) not really sure what to work on , seem to be hitting all my irons well but hybrids and fairways and driver have developed a mahoosive slice , should I ask to work on something specific or just let the guy look at my swing and suggest stuff ?

i would tell him what you want from your game, how much time you can commit to practicing changes and then leave it to him.

i will depend on how much time you can commit to practice, talk through has been said what you want and what you can commit too and let him work out which way to go from there.

Is it a one off or the first of a group? Hard for the pro to do too much on a one off lesson. Speak to him before hand and explain what you are looking for and trying to achieve

I think it will be the first of a group as long as i get on with the guy , I'm sure I will , I'd like to break 90 this year and shoot under a hundred consistently , gaining a lot of shots by hitting my driver or 3 wood Oob , played yesterday didn't touch driver or fairway woods teed off with a five iron and shot 105 so slightly better , putting stinks to , iron striking feels good though

Time isn't an issue , no kids , missus is a marathon runner so allways training , have an abundance of enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge , let's say I'm über keen

Had me lesson , booked a few more , was excellent , changed me grip a bit , posture a bit and takeaway and back swing .
Duffed em all over the place for a bit and then it started to click and wow felt really effortless and me slice is on the run

:D

Great stuff now keep practicing the new grip throughout the day at work even and get some range time in between lessons, the effort will pay off and sub 90 will become the norm. Good luck and stick with it when you have one of those awful can't hit a barn door days.
