got a lesson tomoz at 9:15 and want to work on tee shots only (driver, 4 wood and hybrid) I am in the middle of a swing change for swing path etc but my iron play is quite good right now so dont wanna mess with it. I know I am miles away from a decent swing but tee shots are killing me.

Should I just reinforce whats already in motion (with the irons, swing path) or add another conundrum? Bloody game is driving me nuts lol

indeed homer. still lacking accuracy with the irons but making more greens overall wheras off the tee its severely hit and miss.

Hope my pro will see my POV and not harp on about continuation

I would always make the aim to have one swing, whether it be 9 iron or driver - only some changes in setup should be different. Just keep practicing what you are doing with the irons and perhaps get some pointers on the setup for woods/rescues.

Agreed the swing is technically the same just longer shafts etc really. It's prob something off at set up and your mind set. If you can hit off the fairway the tee should be easier!

Go for it Gibbo, if its that bad at the moment your pro is hardly going to make it worse and, who knows, he might just perform magic!

Two things that screw me when I move from long irons to woods are: tempo and set up. Try to hit them too hard and often set up either aiming left or open to target = pull or slice.

Hopefully it will just be a tweak in your set up and you are good to go :)

For what is worth. I agree with the above.

Sounds like me. I hit all my best shots (irons, hybrids, woods, everything) with a nice smooth swing that feels like I am barely hitting it. And I take my time making sure my setup and alihgment etc is ok.

I sometimes however go back into some very bad old habits like setting up open to the target, making a big overswing and trying to hit it very hard.

Tee shots is where i suffer most aswell so i share your pain Gibbo!

It's all mental.

i think you need a drill involving downswing pumps - that sounds perfect for your game - ask your pro about it and i bet you'll be hitting booming drives all day long ...
