Learning the rules.

Ok so after reading a fule rules and having a few rules discussed in the clubhouse this week after our medal it appears even though I caddied for 6 years as a nipper, then played on and off for 14 years i still dont know the rules as good as a should.

I downloaded the R&A rules app for the Iphone last night and it had a trick little "quiz" function which randomly selects different multiple answer questions in order to brush up on your golf rules.

dont get me wrong its not "fun" as such, but its definately not as hard work as sitting down reading a book cover to cover until you understand it and know it.

Well worth a play with for newbies.

I played the same quiz on the R&A website not long ago. Its quite eye opening how old and ridiculous (sp) some of the rules are.

I would so far as to say they even remove the ability to play in a friendly way without incurring a 2 stroke penalty or loss of hole for having a wee chat or something equally as normal...
