LCD TV Problem

Hi Guys

Wonder if any of you can help

Have a Sumsung LCD TV which when was being used last night just went off, now when you switch it back on the power comes on for a few seconds then goes off again, the sound still comes through ok but its just a black screen, so its obviously a picture issue.

Its a 42" so would probably cost 4-500 to replace and really dont want to fork out that sort of cash:mmm:

My question is.. is this fixable and if so is it cost effective or am I as well getting a new one?

I had a Philips which went similar to yours - I ummd and aahd about replacement but decided to pursue a repair. It cost me £80 and the TV worked for about another 2 years which I though was worth it. I think it is worth speaking to someone (qualified) before getting rid - this might be a common fault and relatively easily fixable.

Was hoping to hear something like that:thup:

Will look up a local TV fixer type guy and get him to look at it.

You will find it will be just a fuse or similar

With laptop LCD screens, the investor board goes and is an easy fix, symptoms are similar in that you get all sound and no picture.
