Sorry I know there has been a lot of posts regarding this but I thought I would share my experience of it.

I have struggled all year with my iron play, and have been through several sets of irons only to be inconsistent with them all, I have also had numerous lessons as well, which was money well spent and has helped.

I was at the range last week and was chatting to the pro there about my problem, he suggested a session on the launch monitor.
So booked in for Saturday afternoon, what an eye opener, I could not believe the difference in the way different clubs, shafts can alter the way the ball flies and to be able to see the difference rather than just guessing.

I ended needing them 2* upright and 1/2" longer and the club that gave me the best results were the cobra`s just ahead of the mizuno.

So out came the card and a set of Cobra`s are on order, It will be interesting to see if this translates to the course,I hope so after a few expensive mistakes this year.

Any body want a set of Ping V2 Raptures to help fund the replacements! :D

I hope this finally bottoms the problems. For me, getting 1/2" longer shafts 2° upright has been a revelation. I can still play badly, obviously, but they are so much more comfortable to swing, and in general my playing partners have commented that I am hitting them better than before.

Ihave found that I just feel so much more sure of myself over the ball with my custom fitted clubs than I did with my old irons. Not sure how much of that is in the mind but having been on a launch monitor it is a revelation to see how I actually hit the ball before with my old sticks and after once they had got the lie etc sorted

I had thought about getting them bent but I was getting much better readings with the cobra`s and the feel was better, hence the change.
Look out ebay here I come :D
The last change, I hope for a long time!!!!!!!!!!!

Why didn't/don't you take your PING's to Gainsboro and get them to bend them for you??

YES! why buy new clubs, 1/2 an inch and 2 degrees up is no bother......Ping should be only too pleased to help.....after all, they are the most C_F orientated company out there.

Chipping (without trying to distract you away from your own post) take a look at my post 'so I went to mizuno today'

How much did your session cost you and how long was it?

My local, Vector is £24 for 45 mins. Good, but not as good as mizuno.

I will give you 150 for the Pings ;)

The Vector I was fitted on at AG was pretty crap, I thought it was the dogs but then I realised after that no swing speeds where given or anything, in fact he sat in front of the vector and still used the old Ping chart and messurements for everything, though the two tapes have worked a treat and the FPs are my new gods.

There is a Snainton golf at Sandmore GC so I shall be using that in future.

Pretty dure you cant bend pings cos they're all cast and not forged!

You can go to Gainsboro to the PING factory and get measured for custom fit - if you already have your sticks then they get a big hammer and whack 'em until they're the right loft/lie etc....and then they paint the spot the right colour....

Session lasted about an hour and 10 mins hit close to 100 balls, cost £30,

I felt it was money well spent and only wished I had done it months ago, Hindsight is a wonderfull thing!

I was tempted to advertise them on here but as I have recently joined did not want to appear to use this sight for that and get hammered for doing so.

But if it is acceptable to do that then I will put them on here before Ebay.
Thanks for the comments but the clubs are on order and the Pings will have to go.

You won't get flamed putting them on here, as your intention when you started posting was to join in. If you join to sell.......
