Laptop help please.

Afternoon all,

My eldest has got into uni and starts Sept. I know nothing about uni or what sort of laptop he might need .

I would prefer not to go to Currys etc as they will waffle a load of stuff that I do not understand.

Any advice on what to look for etc would be much appreciated.

Ask the uni if they have spec’d one, or if they have a deal/discount scheme running.

One of the things that I would thought need to be factored in is what does he need it for e.g what is he studying?

Echo what @Hobbit said, the uni will have a spec for the course he is doing.

Graphic design will be totally different to Geography

If you haven't got one yet ,could be worth getting family subscription to Office 365

He is doing a business management degree.

He is doing a business management degree.

so anything fairly basic, capable of running word processor, spreadsheet and possibly presentation software.

Unless of course he has other ideas, particularly if he is an online gamer.
