Me and my brother Jason (Jacetheace) played our 1st round pairs matchplay (4bbb) yesterday. It was a close match, we lost the 1st and were 1 or 2 down from there on, until the 15th when we got back to all square. Jason played the better golf overall but I played some great shots when it mattered. Especially my tee shot on the par 3 16th, it finished 5ft away but looked in all the way and must have ran right over the hole, I made the birdie putt to go 1 up for the first time. Our opponents looked rattled on the 17th tee so we both took the opportunity to apply some pressure with good tee shots. The hole is a par 4 dogleg left and we laid up to the corner, leaving around 160 to the green. The other pair both hit into the trees on the right so we knew a par would probably win it, we both hit the GIR and after a bit of hacking they conceded the match.
It was a great match, very competitive but friendly throughout and to make the win that little bit sweeter our opponents were the Captain and Vice Captain :D
So things are coming together nicely now, I also won my singles matchplay last week and both me and Jason are starting to show a bit of form in competitions and in general. My handicap has gone up to 10.3 but it will start to come down as the year progresses and the course condition improves. Bring it on.

Well done to both of you. It was only a matter of time before you both started to feel comfortable out there. Patience is being rewarded

Are you in my half of the draw ?

Nice1 but just try and remember that feeling of how you felt and when things are not going so good try to focus on that feeling :)

I'm not sure but I think I remember saying to jason I could end up playing you in the semis if I got that far. I may be wrong.
