Looking to upgrade my shafts in my Callaway razr tour x just wanted to find out people experiences with other shafts

Very expensive exercise that I wouldn't take lightly (well, not a second time).

You might be better to sell current ones and 'upgrade' via Ebay.

PX and KBS (Tours) are rather different types of shaft - and tend to be designed for different swings.

PX suit 'hitter' types more(think Paul Casey) while KBS suit swingers more (think Luke Donald - though he uses DG S300s).

Usinf PX5.5 2 or 3 times a weekend made the bones in my hands ache on a Monday. Rifle 6.0s didn't, nor did the S300s that were in the clubs before I changed to PX. The PXs certainly felt 'brighter' than the S300s in those particular heads though.

I was looking at some project x shafts on eBay,does anyone know what cost of re-fitting the heads and any good places in kent

Very different shafts and characteristics. I'd advise some sort of fitting as it could be a very expensive mistake. For the record I didn't get on with my KBS shafts st all.

Now got Nippon and the difference and results are night and day.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But the stiffer the shaft the shorter you will hit generally. Dispersion will improve though. They always say use the softest shaft you can play with, I believe?

Rather than trying to hit the ball further and waste money trying new shafts try practicing your short game your handicap won't drop by hitting the ball further but will by getting the ball closer to the hole

Chris at ct golf in Orpington is one of the cheapest people I've found for shaft swaps and general club repairs

Just quoted £22.00 for Dynalite xp-s300 supplied and fitted with grip ;)

I would echo the comments others have made already - including stiffer shafts will reduce your distance.

Where in Kent? I have just reshafted from R300 Superlites to theCraws unwanted KBS Tour S shafts, and the jury is still out on whether they stay. I was fitted for Tour 90 S's or Tour R and I am currently of the view that I may have to bite the bullet and get those after all - I'll give it another couple of months and assess from there.

Something I need to improve my distances without changing my swing much

Who told you that. What is wrong with current distances. If you are desperate to get stiffer shafts then why limit yourself to those when there are others like Dynamic Gold etc that may be the ideal one. Personally with the distances you hit, then surely accuracy and short game is the way forward to get lower. Certainly a cheaper option and maybe invest the money in a lesson or two

Distance doesn't equate to a good score. I hit a 5 iron for 175yds, and play off 6. Learn to hit it straighter/better/more consistent. By all means get fitted properly, and if you need a different shaft so be it. If you are hitting a 7 iron 175yds, and playing off 18, its not distance that's the issue.
