I'd be happy if someone told me we're taking the carpets with us as it would save me ripping them out and skipping them. The one thing I always do is rip out carpets and put down new ones! Hate to think what's been on some house carpets.

What about the walls the sinks the ceilings ....

Sign of the times this regarding renting, we are reaching the next generation when nobody will buy houses to live / own only buy to let

Sadly this also drives the rental amounts up too ridiculous figures so youngsters cannot afford to buy or rent

Good luck Fish, use the money wisely as it can soon slip away through your fingers, might be worth investing it perhaps ?

i used to own 3 rental properties ( 3 bed semi and 2, 2 bed apartments ) i used to charge £340 for the semi and £210 for the flats per month 7 years ago, when i sold them ( the house i gave to my son ) i was charging £560 for a spacious 3 bed semi with large garden and £350 for the flats with shared drive and gardens,the chap who bought the flats is now charging £740 pm for the same flats no alterations or upgrades,this i find morally wrong,were are the first time buyers or the ones who cant afford or get a mortgage supposed to live,some run down hovel were we pick up the tab of over £600 pm.
