Just how good is Scheffler?

Scottie could well end up with more career wins or majors than Tiger. But he is some way off Tiger in terms of dominance and winning events. Tiger had a 25% win rate at 151 starts, Scottie is at 13%. And Tiger had 10 majors by the age of 30, Scottie has 4.

At his peak Tiger is in a class of 1.

Scheffler will have his 30th birthday on Sunday 21st June - last day of the US Open !!!

Nicklaus won 11 majors after his 30th birthday, having won 7 before.

I think it best to judge Scheffler's potential alongside Nicklaus's record.

Scheffler could win 2 or 3 this year. He seems right at the top of his game and this does not look too unlikely.

From age 30 onwards he will then need to keep pace with Jack's winning record through those years.

Regarding his longevity, I think his driver swing 'shuffle' might aid longevity. It reduces stress on the lower back. He may become less nimble but it beats doing in his back, knee(s) and hips.

The quote he made about Rosey lends weight to the theory that he won't be around for the long haul.

"I'm 29 and I feel tired already. I can't imagine what I'll feel like at 45."

Probably going to announce retirement later this year, "to spend more time with family" and then work from home and be a, sort of, American Rick Shiels. :):):)

American Danny Maude would surely be the perfect gig for him as a tired home loving family man. Nip out to your garage and do half an hour per week’s work :D
