Just went for a lesson and got it on chipping and pitching thoroughly enjoyed it so next week the lesson will be putting, also got my result from the 3 cards i handed in so i am now playing off 17

I had played from 2002-2006 and was off 14 but had to stop when the kids came along so started taking the game up serious again this year.jesus wept, whats with all these new handicaps being quite good
Makes me feel extra crap at this game lol.

That was a hint Sydney
Nice work on the handicap , good luck on the lessons & getting it down
Not a hint, no offence Sydney I wouldn't drive by my own place to play it.
Sorry man was only kidding , apologies
No offence taken, i only joined to get a hcp and it suits my needs, i would not join a club yet until my youngest starts school, but saying that i am tempted with the low cost of membership at the likes of Niddry Castle and Greenburn. Not a hint, no offence Sydney I wouldn't drive by my own place to play it.

Played Harburn a few years ago lovely cours but like you said the joining fee would put me off, most courses around here are between £460-£500 odd, so to join aint a worry but Harburn want £495 joining fee only 3 clubs round here do and that is Harburn £495 Bathgate about £500 and Pumphy has reduced joining fee to £250.Both Ok but Greenburn would be a stepping stone really, Niddry Castle is a famous course for the guy losing his eye if I remember rightly.
Unsure where you live but Harburn is better than both, similar subscription but Harburn still has a joining fee.
