Just did my first reshaft job

Gamola sell a nice wee range of wire brushes. I use a drill attachment one that cost about 7 quid and its brilliant. I do tend to mess about with a vice though as find it easier to have the ability to use both hands to twist with more control. Also some epoxys dont break down the same and some can be tough as boots even at high temp.

are - the wonders of purpose made tools! I just looked round the workshop for 'anything' :)

agree re-epoxy; I found out the hard way that some epoxy I used (another lying around the workshop....) had gone off and wasn't setting properly so was about to use some nice fresh 'chemical metal' on the basis that that wouldn't let go!!! I then considered the what if I wanted to reshaft again.....and changed my mind pretty quick.

Ah chemical metal... Wonderous stuff until you try getting it off. I think the most common mistake with epoxy is the thermal resistance. Seen some stuff that wont give up until nigh on 600°C... Not a temp you want to heat a painted driver head to.
