John Huggan on Phil Mickelson

So its all about the ball. Yeah - to a large extent it is. But are there not limits defined in the rules as to how far a ball can go? These limits, I believe, are updated regularly. Can it be assumed that the R&A and the USPGA are just not updating them enough?
If they've already got a rule that can be used then all they have to do is downsize the distance allowed and its done.
But it won't happen as the ball manufacturers will have as much of a field day as the club manufacturers do when they get something banned.

spot on article as far as I am concerned, but would it lead to the dilema of pros using a different ball i.e different equipment to us amateurs??
Read an interview with Mr Niclaus where he basically shared the same opinion.

Interesting, if a little petty itself.
still how would you react to some of the 'suggestions'?

putter should be shortest club in the bag - yes

max loft on wedges 55 deg - no (I like my 60)

only 10 clubs permitted - that would be hard, I would bet most rarely, if ever, use all 14 clubs in a round but which would you leave out.
