John Daly style golf gear

One interesting incident that happened during the final round at Walton Heath.

My job was to be a mobile marshal walking with Ian Woosnam's group. After putting out on the first hole, Woosie came over to me and asked me to speak to a spectator with a very bright orange shirt and John Daly shorts. I was to ask the guy not to stand in Woosie's eyeline round the greens, basically on the line of his putts. Have to admit, the shirt was very bright and the guy stood out for miles around.

Do you find playing with partners that have very brightly coloured clothing off puting? Personally, it would not bother me - after all, I have had to put up with Smiffy's white chino's

I don't think a playing partners clothes would bother me at all. Not played wih anyone in really lairy clothing yet, but have seen a few on the course and arond when putting but I just concentrate on my ball and my stroke and try to block everything else out.

I have no problem with it (though whilst I have seen Viscount in some of his outfits before and after rounds I have never had to accompany him round the course in it).

Never been out in the loud gear myself or at least will not have until Wednesday. The electric purple trousers are ready for a debut, now only need to decide on whether I go with the all purple outfit or go with the nice, clashing lime green shirt.

one has to consider the sensitivities of the older style club - only a little mind, as it's not that old. Wednesday shall feature the full regalia.
