I went to Joe Bonamassa tonight and WOW, he was fantastic

Saw him a couple of years ago at the Borderline in London,brilliant night, sadly a talent like his has only a limited market,so much dross around ie x factor and shows like it, they get so much more exposure wheres true talent dont get the exposure they deserve.

As good as Clapton on guitar, I would say. Sings blues and rock, has a great voice and personality. Loads of stuff on utube.

Brilliant guitar player yes but a good songwriter no.
I saw the youtube clips and after hearing Jeff Beck say he was the guy to watch, I bought the double live album 'Live form nowhere in particular' but I have to say it's not very good. For a guy who's been around 20 odd years the tunes are decent but not great. His guitar playing shines through but the songs let his playing down if you know what I mean.
Eric Clapton knew how to write good tunes as well as play guitar as did Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Bonnamassa has written nothing memorable, sorry.

Probably agree with you in that he doesnt have the memorable hits that Clapton has had, but, live he was awsome
