Got my copy at last. Haven't read it yet, but skip read the slow play article.
For those who were there in the 4 ball (Sammmebee, myself Hapless, and a.n.other), who was the slow one in the group who took 10 to 20s longer per shot than every one else?
I can't say, as that would be telling tales. That said, conditions were a touch difficult, given the weather and the course layout, so a few wayward shots were inevitable.
One of the two came third though, so they can't have been that bad.
Not got mine yet, weren't in the shops yesterday, I'll try again tonight. I won't comment until I've seen the articule!! I feel a few fingers pointing in my direction at the moment.
No, not at all. Because I hadn't noticed any one being particularly slow, I had assumed it was me. If it was, I don't care as I normally walk fast, and so I think I can spend more time over the ball.
I was the mentioned "man in the bushes" but this was only on 2 holes and on both occassions I found the ball.
Incidentally I did finish in the prizes so was chuffed to bits over that. Finished up playing to my handicap in attrocious conditions, on a new track and were it not for a penalty I suffered due to my stupidity I would have finished -2 Net.
I was also the quick man over the ball, I have never been one for elongated pre-shot routines.
I am the twit in the red w/proofs, with the 1000 yard stare, and the silly walk. Aren't photos fun.
As an aside, the picture in the freebie calendar of Ardglass 2nd hole (december). This is a beast of a par three. About 180 yards (i think) accross a crevasse, with exposed rocks short of the green, to send a short ball flying. Played this in September, hit short of the green (just), leaving a 15ft chip (in horizontal rain), knifed it to the back of the green, and sunk a 30ft putt for a grateful par. Awesome hole.
When I saw the title January Gm I thought perhaps someone had discovered the resonant tones of their golf clubs in January formed a G minor scale...ho hum...
