Went today to be custom fit for the rocketbladez i wanted, but one of the fellas in Andrew Morris Golf i go to wanted to do a more comprehensive fitting, trying more brands shafts etc....

So he took some measurements wrist to ground height etc.... on the ping fitting chart it said my clubs should be 3* he though that was a bit much, next he built up a club from the Mizuno Swing DNA machine, took me out to the range, i hit a load of shots with him taking readings each time, and the computer gave 3 recommendations of clubs and shafts

MP-58, jpx825, and something else which i cant remember of hand Shaft recommendations were 1. Dynamic gold S300 130G 2.Project x 5.5 3. kbs stiff wasn't sure if it was tour or not

We also tried out one of the latest ping irons, again i cant remember what it was, didn't like the look of it and didn't get much feel on impact. Titlest AP2 forged were quite nice, liked the 58's but nothing compared to the 825's man they were something else, the ball flight was so much lower, spin was way down, shot shaping was a joy. Order has been sent of the Mizuno and should have my new clubs in 10 days or so 1/2" longer 2* up 5-pw and got myself a nice tp-11 56* for a sand wedge as the set doesn't include one

ive seen so many threads about how important custom fitting is etc.... and i have to agree 100% you get to find out all sort of interesting information about your swing etc... the whole process is really fun with trying 100's of different combos

anyone thinking about it i recomend it highly, if i didn't do it, id be walking out with a set of rocket blades with shafts that were to light for me

took my son to Precision golf at the weekend for a woods fitting, current driver and hybrid were ok but he gained an extra 30+ yards on his 3 wood with a Mizuno MP650 averaging around 265yds. Never thought that the Mizuno woods were that good but just proves it worth trying all makes.
