Bit of a mixed bag for his first few holes but I personally think he will gain confidence during this first round, just not so sure about the Van Dyke beard though.

In response to the original question, you have to ask "Would Tiger have been happy with that round 5 years ago?" I would probably say no.
He'll always be capable of hitting some great shots, but the question is can he put 4 good rounds together to win a tournament? Again, I would say no.

Bit early to say after only playing 18 holes, but his recovery on the 16th (second shot) and his birdie putt on the same hole, for me showed that the class is still there.

Too early to tell and even if he doesn't win or really contend this week its a good bit of practice ahead of the USPGA and the rest of the season. Let him play his way back into tournament golf for the rest of the year and then judge him after a full schedule next year

Looked considerably leaner compared to when I last saw him. Probably purposeful to take a bit of pressure off the knee.

He looked very solid in the first round. More in control and at ease.
Even had the driver under better control ,as mentioned by the commentators. More importantly the putter was there when needed.

@Dodger, your right there.....not even the Prince of golf(Rory) could get the majority attention of the crowd.
