Last night I played in a twilight 9 hole medal and I played generally ok to finish with a gross +4. But it was not plain sailing. We have two par 5's back to back 7 and 8.
Long story short the first one I s***k my drive in to a field and OOB. Longest hole on the course at 545yds. So end up taking a 7 after a mediocre second drive and a poorly hit 3 wood.
As you can imagine after getting to this point at only +3 I was a bit annoyed at myself.
But, it's a big but, I have taken a load of advice from this site and a few bits from my father-in-law about just slowing it down and trying to clear my mind. So after a wait on the next tee (505yds Par 5) I set about clearing the thoughts. Boom, drive right down the middle, boom 5 wood from 223 on to the green and 3ft from pin, knocked in for eagle...
My title suggests my question, can there be a game that gives you so many ups and downs in such a short space of time?
Oh and I then went on to bogey the last but that's usual for me as it's a tricky one
