• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

Is the forum not a happy one?

There is no better golfing forum than this one, even disagreements are generally polite and with humour.

If you only looking for encouragement and agreement, then update your staus on facebook!

If you are self opinionated enough to post on an open forum, then your skin should be thick enough to deal with some comebacks.

More power to the GM Forum elbow!!

to the old mars bar seller, come on really dont chuck us. i havent bought my flip video and my jobby gorilla grip for nothing. im building up to posting my swing for your old eyes to correct. in anything no one always agree in things. and homer up here it is defo dry wit, we can slag ourselves quite easily hence my sig name. so its nothing serious lets enjoy it and be better golfers on and off the course

I think the forum is the usual pleasant place that I like.

Stop looking for issues where there are none!

As forums go this is a good one.

As for niggles, its winter. People niggle more in winter.

Don't post anything you wouldn't say to someone's face, or if you do post something looking for a response, e.g. Steve in Spain's wind up, you've got to accept any response that comes back at you.

I think its a great forum , dont do any others so cant realy compare , i do believe Scousers question was a timely one lets say, as there was a bit of bickering going on , hobbit makes a great point in not posting stuff you wouldnt say to peoples faces, i think also a responce in text can be misinterpeted or take differently by different people , the humour of the Irish ,Scottish ,English & Welsh can be different so you can post something you think is funny but others just dont get it .. What i will say tho if you are arguing /discussing a topic with some one & you get personal with them it shows they have won..

+1

Although I would say every ones humor can be different.

Sadly, several of the regular posters who were here when I joined almost 3 years ago seem to have retired to be replaced with new much more arguementative posters.
I fully understand people will have different views on all subjects and discussion is healthy but I fear there are a few of the new breed who seem to go out of their way to pick a cyber fight on purpose and I'm afraid this isn't just limited to the normal posters.
Sad really.

I cant remember having so many locked threads and threads moved.
Rose tinted glasses? Maybe :(

Maybe with the introduction of the new free expert coaching site, I guess it's only a matter of time till I join Madandra, Freddielong, TonyN etc and leave you all to the bickering.

There is no free Video coaching site in the world that would replace what you do here bob! The are TONES of people making regular free video sites, Mark Crosfield is the best but I would still rather ask you.

Don't be going anywhere!!!

100% agree and in the virtual world people can be downright rude and wouldn't dare be the same up close and personal.

No you don't. Are you saying that just because you have put up a light hearted thread, anybody can be as rude and personal as they like in reply ? Reply in the spirit of the thread, or just ignore it.

I don't spend a massive amount of time on here so I don't see that much moaning/bickering but
I have noticed a lot of new people.

That said I still think this is the best golf forum and there's always a funny thread or post but it's the people on here that make this site the best forum, I know GM team and ipc provide the site but without everybody's input wether its right or wrong this site wouldn't be what it is.

As for scouser moaning.......there's always bleeding one!

You still taking divots fella?
