Is it wrong to find golf clubs ‘attractive’?

I have been stuck in the flat all afternoon due to the weather (yes thank you mother nature!)

I have been gazing lovingly at my golf bag, I thought I’ll just unzip the rain cover, let the light rebound off the polished finish of my baby MX-17s. I found myself thinking they are mighty fine looking clubs, slim, elegant, minimalistic. Oooo look at the way the head cover on my SasQuatch looks like a cobra ready to pounce. Hold on a minute – finding clubs attractive – isn’t that a little odd?

Also in one of the putter threads someone said a putter was ‘sex on a stick’…

I can recommend a therapist.....

you sound like the golfing version of Shallow Hal.....MX-17s, slim and elegant?.....rose tinted, and all that.

give me an MP60, and, well, might consider swinging as a serious idea if the missus agrees!!!!

Hi Mickey.
I think youv'e stayed in a bit too long mate, perhaps a walk in the rain would have sorted the brain out.(only joking mate)

I like the look of my clubs and also my putter collection but to find them atractive NO.

The Mrs is just sat shaking her head at me

"Sex on a stick" Yep thats me. You gotta love your Irons, Putter etc

My current lust is over the new Wilson Staff Pi7 Irons just wish I had the game for them.

Nothing like giving your Irons a good clean then polish with a shamey once in a while. Often find myself given them a cheeky glance of affection.

Don't listen to them Micky there's nothing wrong with a bit of iron loving. I'm not ashamed to say that my heart quickens a little at the sight of my gleaming Nike cci forged when they're all lined up after cleaning...... Gorgeous.

Its all good admiring your clubs micky , but whats the next step after that? Your mrs will give you funny looks if she wakes up next to you and Ben Sayers!

Several years ago, I was out in the back garden cleaning my clubs before a saturday afternoon tee time. My daughter, who was about 6 at the time, asked for yet another toy to be brought out the garage for her to play with in the garden. I was in the middle of an important task so said " in a few minutes" to wich she replied, "you love your golf clubs more than you love me". I had a brief think about it, but she was gone before I could answer.

Having got to the hub of the matter, you obviously were feeling pumped up so spoke your mind. I'm getting tyred so it's time to put the breaks on this one, saddle up, and hit the road.

Hey, if liking the look of your sticks, gives you extra confidence when holding them on the tee, then there's nowt wrong with that. This game is such a mind game anyway. I kinda understand where you're coming from.

PS. I do sleep with one under the bed, just in case officer!!
