The last few years ive really started getting into my golf after a small break and especially this year im pretty much addicted. I find myself at work thinking my way through my course each hole and how i would play it. Recently most of my spare time is sat on this forum, watching ANY golf programme on the telly and if theres nothing on watching golf dvds!

Is anyone else this bad or am i just sad :)

Nope. HID hates it. I always have to catch up with the golf on TV at night.

Love this game, I do. Really hope I like my potential new course. I can play every morning before work! Winning!

Nope, me too! Whenever I start a checking job in my pen pusher job, I find myself automatically thinking about the first hole, with a screaming drive, beautiful pitch on and a nice 5 ft putt for birdie. Oh, and the weather is stunning and the company wonderful.
Can't think of a better daydream!

There's an 'urban myth' about a guy who did that when he was held captive and upon his release was a much better player....

there's a pop-up on the site however here's the link... http://www.snopes.com/sports/golf/innergolf.asp
It's a positive thinking thing and I'm sure that can only help.. unless you envisage having a nightmare round!!! :D

Nope.
It's not just you.
I have only been playing since July last year & I am totally addicted, when I am not playing I am thinking about it or watching U-Tube clips or on here chatting about it.
My wife already describes herself as a golf widow.
Spring can't come soon enough.

totally addicted, to the point my kids are sick of it, my gf wishes I had never taken it up and neither does my bank account (and thats with buying cheap 2nd hand!!!)

my only regret.... didnt take it up sooner

oh and the fact I have to work 5 days a week as it means even less time to play :(

I got back into Golf almost 2 years ago after a 15 year break from the game,it started as a social once every now and then thing but i have now become obsessed again and absolutely love it and am desperate to get back to the same level as i was last time around.
So your the not the only sad addict!!

You know you're addicted when you're out for a walk and you see a piece of ground and think "Oooh I could put a really nice par 3 in there, just move this, reshape that, bunker here........."

Hi, my name is rooter and I am a golf addict.

I drive a lot for work, I keep a few clubs in the car with shoes and a glove. On my fancy satnav system I have golf clubs as a poi (point of interest) if I am early for a meeting, I find courses around the country and hit some balls on the range! Constantly trying to play more " corporate " golf, doing chores to score brownie points to allow more weekend golf, leaving work early to have a quick 90 balls before going home... The list goes on..

my friends been texting me asking how I'm doing without my fix (golf) with snow stopping play he says I'm addicted and i am,,,its the misses that thinks I'm sad

well at first she thought i was sad ,but then i started to do all the DIY jobs around the house

so the compromise is, i can play as much golf as i like,,,as long as i do what she says

You have summed up 2012 for me so far.
